At shows I have often gone to have a look at the Siamese and I have seen some of the blankets in the pens arranged to form a tent or hammock? It looks good.
Just being a bit curious here and was just wondering why this is done

Just makes it look prettier and our girls and guys at least love it-especially as May makes them little princess donut beds(The girls that is)

I was thinking that perhaps it was done to provide a privacy screen or to keep out draughts.

anyways, i made a tent thing for the hell of it because i was copying everyone else ha ha

but i usually just roll a white blanket and make a nest bed, my cats like that best.

Just thought though, do the judges not view that as making a distinguishing feature out of your pen? Are you allowed to do it before the open is judged confused: now there's a thing, does a certain breeder have their own style of tent or hammock???????

The judges know whose cat it is! tent or not, they may just have trouble with kittens. But yeah i guess they can work out by the tent style, by various things. We should all have to arrange the blankets etc the same maybe.

I think part of it has to do with the GCCF stipulation that only white things are allowed in the pens so anyone who shows cannot put a anything other than a white blanket - so they formed the white blanked into a bed for their cattie and others formed it into a screen to give their cat some privacy when needed. I think there are beds on sale now that are just white.

Other than this, FIFe and TICA are governing bodies who do not stipulate that your cat should only have white things in their pen because the cat is transferred from this into a separate show pen when the time comes for the cat to be judged against others in its class.

Plus at Tica,Fb or Fife shows your cat/kitten isn't penned for the most part your with your cat/kitten all day as he/she is being judged,but yes Raa at GCCF shows everything has to be white,not nearly white or slightly off white but whiteIf you have anything other than white you can be disqualified)
