Angry Problems with stray cats

Hi hope someone can help me. I have 4 cats all which are so lovely. We have recently come back from holiday and the person who was looking after them has said some strays have been inside the house. Since we have been back we have noticed none of the cats want to come inside the house anymore, and if they rarely do they go nuts, run about and run outside. Why are they doing this and how can I get my babies to come in and let them know eveything is ok??

Thats a bit bad like!! how did they get in Are yours house cats ? By the sounds the strays have probably left their scents all over the place, by spraying and/or rubbing where your cats normally do. Though I don't see why yours won't come in, because normally they would be interested in the new smells.

Olly-hi and welcome btw, don't mean to be rude but do you really know whats gone on whilst you were away? Also i agree with Wendy in that these stray cats may have scared your cats and so they are no longer sure of themselves and of their home and are probably a bit confused/frightened so know you do but really gut your house from top to bottom and with your 4 cats just go slowly and gently in reassuring them that you are back and everything is as before

Re: Problems with stray cats

hi and thanks for your replies!

The person looking after them when we were on hols said that everything was ok apart from these strays comming in to the house, they just come through the catflap into the hall. The rest of the house was shup up so they could not go anywhere else.

They are still not comming in much and and are staying outside. We Have had to put another cat flap on the door cos Bella my big fluffy cat broke it and she is not happy we got another one. but give it time she will break that too.
