Missing Cat :-(

Our kitten pickle went missing aroung 2 weeks ago and im kind of hoping for advice.

I feel like a bit of a bad parent as he had gone out without his collar on (he was on his third and had lost that so we were waiting to get a new one) and he wasnt chipped.

Ironically he was due to go and get his bits chopped two days after he went missing (an escape attempt maybe). He was also booked to get chipped at the same time.

Has anyone had experience with their cats going wandering and returning home?

The problem is his brother seems to be really upset and sometimes wont eat his food. They have been together for the last 6 months or so and have never really been apart.

In the week before he left they were getting a little too playful with each other (and his brother was sometimes trying to hump him) but we put this down to the fact they were needing the snip, and werent too concerned as we knew they were booked to go in.

Can anyone give any advice that may help?

We have posted about 100 flyers to all of the neighbours and put a few posters up in the local paper shop etc.

Thanks

Sorry to hear he's wandered off. Have you put his details on all the lost and found websites too, and put an ad in the local paper, and gone round calling him?

Re: Missing Cat :-(

Hes on cats protection. Ive just emailed the local papers too so hopefully.

He was a pretty boy so im worried someone has pinched him! The night he went missing I drove down just about every road in a 2 mile radius and couldnt see him so I know the worst hasnt happened.

That leaves the possibility that he must have gone a wandering, but a few garden hops to a cat he a mile for a human!

Re: Missing Cat :-(

Have you looked at the advice on looking for missing cats on the Lost and Found bit of the cat forum here, by the way?

Re: Missing Cat :-(

Phone all your local vets and local rescues to see if he has been picked up. Put adverts in your local supermarkets, pet shops and newsagents - if possible may be worth offering a small reward.

Good luck.

Re: Missing Cat :-(

We did all of the above, thanks for the advice.

We got a phone call this week and he has been found in a garden about a mile away.

Hes a bit weak and thin but very happy to be home.

Thanks for your help!
