Question Drooling when being handeled?

Hello!

I have a 7 month of kitty who's pure white and extremely friendly, handeled often and sociable.

However, with the hot weather I've been putting childrens suntan lotion on her ears and the tip of her nose as advised by a vet and other owners.

The strange thing is though, whenever we pick her up and begin rubbing it in her ears and the tip of her nose now, she drools, alot, she doesnt hiss or make any noise...she just drools ALOT.

Odd no, any ideas what could be the behaviour for it?

Heres a picture of her just for the sake of it!

Hmmm.. Could it be something in the suncream that is causing her to salivate?

Try rubbing her nose and her ears without any suncream to see whether it's actually the cream, or the rubbing that makes it happen.

We have a couple of cats that will dribble and nibble if they get too excited by the attention!

Re: Drooling when being handeled?

What a gorgeous baby. It could be the smell of the lotion that's causing her to drool. Cats are sensitive to smells that we aren't. A friends cat did that at a show, he had strings of drool from his mouth, she called the duty vet and they advised it was probably something that he could smell that he was sensitive to. He was fine when he got home.
