Kitten help
Hi,
I recently adopted a kitten who is now 15 weeks (gismo). He has always been very excitable and playful; however he is very rough with this. This was fine until yesterday when I adopted a 9 week old kitten (bumble) for him to play with. The problem is not gismo being territorial as I expected, but with him being to over excited and always wanting to play. Bumble is trying to settle in and is the one that constantly hisses and growls and doesn’t seem to want to interact with gismo. I am worried that they will always be this way. Another thing that i find strange is they will eat and drink out of the same bowl without any worries!! Any ideas or tips would be really helpful and gratefully received. Thanks, Stuart. |

Re: Kitten help
My parents have recently introduced a kitten to a 1yr old cat/kitten. For all the over excitement and 'fights' they have it's fine. They are adjusting to each other and apart from ensuring the 'fights' do not become too over the top, leave them to it.
Let them play fight and stop it only if it becomes 'real'. As to them eating from the same bowl, this is also the case for the two my parents have. As long as they both have enough food, they'll be fine. Also keep your camcorder/video phone handy as some of the fighting or stalking will be absolutely hilarious, trust me I have my own fantastic videos
