7 month ragdoll wont poo in his tray!

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have :
  • 7 month ragdoll boy
  • 4 month old tabby boy
  • 2 year old moggie boy who is outside most of the time
I have a 7 month old ragdoll boy.

I have
  • 3 litter trays

The other cats are fine, its just Oliver. He'll pee in his tray but not poo. He always poos near to his one of his trays.

I have tried:
  • Putting him in his tray as soon as I see his is starting to do a poo
  • Giving him treats straight away whenever he uses his tray
  • Adding an extra litter tray (which is why I now have three)

Can I also add that even if the tray has just been cleaned and no cat has gone in it, he will still go on the floor, despite him knowing it's clean.

Re: 7 month ragdoll wont poo in his tray!

Hi Nicola

Have you tried changing one of the trays to a completely different kind of litter - i.e. if you have clumping - try one tray with a non clumping or recycled newspaper or wood pellets. Or if your trays are uncovered - try a covered tray and put one of them perhaps in a different place to the other two.

May also be worth getting a plug in Feliway diffuser.

Are your boys neutered?
