Re: kitten biting

aww how old is your little one?. The only real way to stop it is to keep him out your room at night unfortunately. They do tend to grow out of it though

Re: kitten biting

I don't let Dorrie in our room as I made the mistake of leaving the bedroom door open slightly one night and she got in and bit my feet. I accidentally kicked out in my sleep and caught her. I felt soooo guilty and just kissed and cuddled her for about an hour afterwards.
They do grow out of it as Dorrie is 4 months now and doesn't bite as much as she did when we first got her. We always tell her "No" when she bites and ignore her so she knows she has done wrong.

Re: kitten biting

Oh look at that little terrorist!!!

Well.. he needs to know that it is NOT acceptable to bite his human. What I do is make a big OUCH sound so he can identify his biting hurts you. Also when he bites withdraw all attention from him. He will soon realize biting means you don't get any attention! At night if hes doing it a lot, you best off putting him in another room for his safety. When we are half asleep and feel a nasty nip we can't guarentee we won't kick out.

Also a hiss like a mamma cat may also show him that hurting you is not good.

Don't play finger games with (waving your fingers infront of him) that will only teach him that biting you is part of a game and it isn't !

Biting is a part of how a kitten grows and develops but it is not acceptable for your little one to do it on you. He will learn just be persistant. What a hansom boy you have !
