Cat screams constantly
My cat will never shut up.
She meows night and day. She is around 9 years old, she is fixed. Sometimes its because she wants feeding or to go out but usually its just seems to be that she likes the sound of her own voice. Sometimes she meows to go out. When I let her out she is back at the door or window again 30 seconds later. Often when I let her back in she wants to go out again but not always. She is beginning to cause some serious stress. Is there anything I can do to shut her up. I dont mine her meowing when she wants something, although it could be a little more restrained. |

Re: Cat screams constantly
Have you had her checked out at the vets? SHe may be in pain? If the vet gives her the all clear try feliway diffusers to help calm her down. My cat can be very demanding at times - if there is nothing wrong I find a bit of time out can help.

Re: Cat screams constantly
Also agree with spid, check with your vets. If nothing is found though, try only responding if she wants something and ignoring her if it sounds like she's doing it for attention or to go out at night.
Always check with your vet first though.

Re: Cat screams constantly
Always get her checked at the vet. But it also be caused due to you attending her needs!!
Like: she cries..............you feed her, let her out, give her attention, play with her, cuddle her, stroke her, talk to her........etc etc Trust me.......it makes them do it more! Lol!! If the vet gives her the all clear (after a very detailed health check) and you know for a fact she has been to the toilet, been fed, had plenty attention/play and love.... then let her meow!! It will take a while for her to realise no one will attend her diva escapades! But perservere!!
