Unhappy GRRRR Kittens peein in my living room!

Our kittens are 4 1/2 mths old and have started to wee in 2 of the corners of our living room. Im not sure if it is because they might need to be neutred or if its another reason.

The smell is very very strong of ammonia. I have cleaned it 3 times and it still stinks!

Is there a way to stop them doing this, the problem is once they start you cant stop them, if you pick them up they carry on peein......Are they marking or are they peein, if that makes sense.....

How many litter trays have you got? If only one, try adding another one. Do they have clear access to the tray/s? Try using different litter, most cats prefer a fine grain, sandy type litter. Make sure you clean up the areas with a solution of biological washing powder and water, when dry, spray with surgical spirit to remove any last trace of smell that might attract them back, and also try some Feliway spray in tose areas.

Re: GRRRR Kittens peein in my living room!

It sounds like they are spraying its easily distinguished from a normal pee smell, like you say ammonia.

I would try and get them booked in to get neutered asap, how many cats have you got? Do they all get on OK?
