How can I keep my cat away from the neighbords`yard?

Hello, I have a bit of a problem. I have 3 cats and my neighbord cant stand them. It is turning out to be quite a situation as I dont have a clue on how to keep my cats away from his yard. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to achieve so?
Thanks a million

Re: How can I keep my cat away from the neighbords`yard?

i dont think you could, my neighbour absolutely hates cats, when molly died (got run over) on 16th of october and we told her she replied "well thats one less in my backyard"

We have 4 cats. 2 indoors 2 outdoors, we just let them go wherever they please, if theyre found in her garden she shoo's them away. Fair enough, but theres no law saying cats arnt aloud to roam free outside

Hello and welcome. Usually people post Hello in general chat, that way more people see it, because anybody looking at this particular thread is expecting to see advice about keeping cats out of the neighbours' yard, not a newbie introducing themselves, so if you want to introduce yourself I'd start a thread under general chat.

Keep them indoors, or just put orange peel around the garden - cats don't like that smell apparently, and tend to stay away from it

You could try a Cat fence. They are reasonably priced and will keep your cats in your yard.

Re: How can I keep my cat away from the neighbords`yard?

Hiya

You have several options

1 - carry on letting them roam.

2 - make them indoor only cats and build a catrun attatched to the house

3 - cat proof your garden - there are several companies and plans online to keep the cats in your garden.

4 - offer to catproof neighbours garden, so your cats cant go in

If you think your neighbour is the sort to actually hurt/harm/shoot/poison your cats then i would go with the cat proof fencing or the indoor option.

hope that helps x

I agree, cat proof fencing is the way to go but I would never entertain the idea of giving my cats an electric shock There are a few manufacturers of different types. Felisafe will supply a custom made fence top kit at a very reasonable price

totally agree, although felisafe isnt the only company who do humane soloutions, there are many others, and even more DIY plans for you to follow.

Just to say though, this is quite an old thread, not sure why its been dragged up?
