AHhhh - Got up this morning and they've weed on our bed?

We had our kittens for 1 weeks (they are 10 weeks old) and they are litter trained and we've had no problems so far......then... got up this morning and found that they have jumped on our bed and weed on our duvet and also a little bit on a pillow we had dropped on the floor at the side of the bed

What should we do to stop this happening again?

We have changed their cat litter yesterday and they have been weeing and pooing it their litter tray but got up this morning to this

Can anyone help?

Also I one of them has had a big poo this morning and there is a bit of blood in it - is this just because its a big poo?

Please reply if you have had this, its our first wobble since we've had our babies

Thank you xxx

Hiya. We got our 2 kittens litter trained and they had no issues but after week or so with us they were running and playing across our bed and sapphire wee'd on the duvet which soaked through to my boyfriends foot! Eeew. Luckily I had already left for work. Lol

We washed the duvet and sheets and soaked the area on the matress with simple solution which we bought from pets@home. Sapphire has not done this since. It seems it was just an accident.

Keep an eye on her just in case it's medical like urinary tract infection or behavioral due to wanting attention or marking territory. Hopefully it was just a little accident.

I'm not sure about the blood in the poo though. Keep an eye on them and see if it continues or if they're straining to go and in that case I'd take them
to the vets for a checkup.

Hi, it's probably due to the change in litter. Especially with kittens you need to do this very carefully as they are very sensitive to change. Most people advise mixing some old with a sprinkly of new and changing it more and more to the new over a week or so. They're probably just confused because the new litter looks/ smells / feels different so they're unsure where to "go" now. They like to have a good sniff and paw around in their litter before they go, so if it has changed it will confuse them, as will a change in location of the tray. Try going back to your old brand and introducing the new one gradually. They may resist the change, in which case, can you put up with the old brand if they don't like the new one?
