I have a female gray tabby, she is 17 years old. This morning when I was getting ready for work, she urinated on the bathroom rug right next to me. My bed is ruined from her urinating on it, she defecates in the middle of the floor. She still uses the litter box occasionally, though. I have dry food 24/7 for her. I feed her soft, she eats 2 bites and starts bugging me like she is starving. It doesn't matter what brand. She occasionally vomits, especially when I change her soft food. Tonight, she was chasing around "nothing" like she was chasing a mouse. It was like she was hallucinating! She is more "clingy" to me than ever before! Could she be going senile? Can something be done? I don't want to have her put down, because she doesn't seem to be suffering!

Re: Is my kitty senile?
My old girl lived to 20. When she was 17 she started weeing out of her tray too. Took her to the vat, and she had cystitis. After antibiotics she was clean again.
Please take her to the vet. Try and get a wee sample first. I was lucky, my cat did a wee in the tray that I had emptied of litter, she didn't care, and I poured it into a bottle. Let us know what happens. |
