Help please - I am not a chew toy!!!

Two 11 week old kittens.

Taf plays as much as his brother but seems to get the idea that we are not chew toys and comes for fuss and cuddles.

Bryn doesn't seem to get the same idea.

He will come for fuss and cuddles, but he will also appear all purrs and then proceed to scratch the hell out of us, whilst purring.

At the moment I'm an tapping him on the nose, saying no and if he doesn't stop dumping him on the floor untill he goes away.

What I don't want to do is put him off coming for fuss, what else are cats for other than to love.

I do play with them too but although Taf seems to have worked out the difference Bryn doesn't seem to have done.

Help!!!

Just a guess here, is he telling me he's hungry? is that what they do with mum if she won't let them suckle?

I've just fed them and after that he was lovely and cuddly. They're second breakfast was late and last night they hadn't yet had their second tea.

Hi both my kitties do this, they are playing ... I just keep my hand there and they leave it alone after a couple of seconds.

They have always done this and they are 2 and 3 years old.

Re: Help please - I am not a chew toy!!!

problem is, in a couple of seconds he will have shreaded my hand.... and it's not just my hands. he will go for elbows too, and up a t-shirt sleeve, under the bottom of a t-shirt... he just seems to find flesh with those little paws and needle point claws to the point where he draws blood or even gets his claws stuck in flesh.

Maybe it's because my old boy used to be very good at playing like a devil and turning it off instantly as soon as you stroked him.

I had him from 6 years so have no idea how to train these two to be the same.
