jasper is missing

our 8 month old male is missing! Well, the last time i saw him was yesterday, whe he came in for a cuddle. We havent seen him since. You prob think im over reacting, but he has never been away from home this long! I know he is a young male and it "that time of year", but my mummy-ing worries are there!

Our other cat Sam (Jasper's brother) has been acting waird all day - overly sleeping and not leaving his "box" on his scraching post. Been out looking around our estate for him, but no luck. Sam has gone out now - hoping he will find Jasper and bring his back safely!

(a very worried) Helen x

Re: jasper is missing

Hiya

Sorry about your cat taking off...I say that because a non-neutered male will walk for miles in search of a female...at this early point that is the likeliest option and its not unusal for them to disappear for a week under these circumstances.

However when a cat does go missing the other things you can do are call around the catteries in your area, put up posters.

I had a male rescue cat 6years ago and he went missing for 10days...when he turned up he had a fractured jaw...so obviously something had happened and he was scared...my point here is that when a cat is scared his survival instincts kick in and he will hide somewhere...he could be within reach to your home and you could be calling him and he can hear you very well but when they dont want to be found not even your voice will bring them home.

I know its an awful feeling because 'you just dont know' but at this moment in time apart from ringing around and posters you will just have to wait. I feel confident he will turn up he is being a typical male I suspect...

Keep us posted. xxx
