Big kitten + little kitten = good or bad idea?
I have a 10 month old female that we have had since she was 4 months old. She was a rescue cat that previously lived with another adult cat. We have been thinking of getting her a playmate. She hates to be alone, is very playful and affectionate and is very interested and not afraid or aggressive with other cats in the neighbourhood. She is confined to our small yard though so she doesn't get close contact with other cats.
We thought an older kitten would be best (around 3-6 months old). We have been to the cat rescue a couple of times but we haven't found a cat that would fit with us. It will be mostly an indoor cat so we didn't want to get a cat that was used to going out all the time.
Anyhow, to get to the point, a friend has newborn kittens (obviously we wouldn't be getting one for several weeks yet). I wouldn't leave them alone together while the kitten is still small. But I'm still a bit concerned. My big kitten can be a bit rough and bitey when she plays. Do you think there is a good chance they would get along? I was thinking they might bond because my Yuki is still a youngster. What do you all think?
Sorry this is a bit long.
