Kitty litter training troubles...please help

I recently took in a stray kitten. We believe she is about 6 months old.
She goes to the litter box to poop, but pees in the bathtub. If the bathroom door is closed she pees elsewhere. Today I caught her peeing by the front door. I have no idea how to get her to the litter box to pee. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Kitty litter training troubles...please help

Hi i'm afraid i've never been in your situation but I remember reading somewhere (possibly on here) that some cats like to do their peeps and poops in different places. Maybe if you have a second tray and put it somewhere she normally goes? Hopefully someone will have some advice that doesn't involve forking out for a second tray!

maybe with her being a stray she doesnt like the litter you have for her. try a different type of litter. i use a ultra clumping clay type which after many trials, my 2 boys seem to prefer above all the others.
my kitten used to pee on duvets. nowhere else, just duvets. drove me barmy, but touch wood he hasnt done it in a few months now

It would be good if you could catch her in the act - so you can remove her from wherever she is peeing and put her in the litter tray.

I think generally cats like to poop in one place, but like to pee all over, ive been lucky with my kitty, he always has done his business in his letter tray, but we had him from being very very small, so we had time to train him.

Keep always poping her in her litter tray, and let her know that peeing any where except the tray is naughty, for example if you catch her peeing on the floor - scould her as your carrying her to the litter tray - it sounds mean, but after a few tries - she'll go in the tray naturally and you wont need to worry anymore.

Good luck.
