Litter

Right in my excitment I am trying to think of everything and get it sorted before tink comes home.

As she is my first kitten I have never done the litter training before.

The breeder has her on a nun clumping gravel looking litter but I currently use the untreated wood pellets for my rabbit. Would it confuse her to use this straight away?

I live in a one bedroom apartment and am planning at night for her to have acsees to the hallway only for a few weeks to settle her food water and litter tray will then be close at hand and when were about and in teh day giver her acsess to the living room. Is this the right way about doing things?

I have read to put her in her tray after eating and waking up and when she first comes home!

Generally speaking cats or kittens are pretty smart, if you leave her food and litter in the bed room with her for a day or so, she well do fine. What I had done in past to is place the wee one into the litter box gently, and move her paws in back and forth like they would do while using the litter box, it works like a charm. Kittens are fast learner unlike dogs at least in my own personal experience! Good Luck you well do just fine and very smart to make sure that things are ready for the baby before hand, Kudos!

Re: Litter

Hi Tinks, you could ask the breeder for a little of her used wet soil and place this over the pellets and see how she goes and until your sure she knows where everything is just keep her confined to one room, she'll soon get the gist of things and good luckBtw i found with the clay clumping litter,it's far too dusty and also no matter how often you clean the tray etc it seemed to retain a smell
