Re: Kitty Problem Again!!

ok here's how it went...

when i'm at home - let the tiny kitten out in the living room, with the cage open, keeping Freddy in the rest of the house. then after a while, let Freddy in the livingroom and tilly in the kitchen. get their food ready and feed them at the same time. then...let freddy and tilly sniff each other a bit (then Freddy would try and 'play') split them up in different rooms again.

then at night Freddy would be with us as usual, and Tilly would sleep in her bed, in the cage with a warm hot water bottle. (and her tray, food and water)

i just gradually let them spend more time together, separating them when i thought Freddy was taking things too far.

2 weeks later we are just about there!

Re: Kitty Problem Again!!

ur kitten is still rather young and it is probably the best time to introduce a new comer, before she gets too old and dominant, the chances of them fighting is quite slim, they may hiss and growl but it wont last long, u should put the new kitten is a small room with litter tray etc untill u feel ok to leave them when no one is home, and for first introductions have the new kitten in a carrier, or a cage but not one that has big gaps that they can swipe at each other with, when my kittens met my sisters cats when they stayed over xmas, i kept them all in the living room in their carriers and let one out at a time to sniff the other carriers, there was hisses at the start from my two as they felt slightly territorial, but within two days they was all sleeping together and grooming eachother
