hey al monday i got another cat hes 12 months old and gorgeous well yesterday n 2nite hes started coming for cuddles with me and he starts to try and suckle on my tshirt while im wearing it. does he think im his mum or something and how come hes bonded with me so quickily i thought it wud b more difficult cause hes older. buffy suckles my blanket but she was taken from her mum early so that explains why she does it but i dont no why soaps does it. he never does it unless its something im wearing so why does he do it??

Probably the same reason as your other cat, unless you know his history and can rule that out?

he was gt at 12 weeks and has always been round other cats so he learnt behavour ways ect
he doesnt do this to my boyfriend eever when he cuddles up to him its just me which is wierd as my bf is at home more than me as i work durin the day so i spend lotsa time with them before work in the mornings then after in the evenings

my friend had a kitten that suckled everything, although he was a kitten (about 3 months old). it's a tricky one, hmmm what about just taking him gently off your lap each time he does it? and hopefully he'll give up soon

Maybe anxiety issues. Suckling is calming to cats. Maybe that's the issue...

aww i hope hes not anxious this is his second home as the person i got him off got him from his daughter so could that be the reason atm. i do make sure he gets loadsa cuddles and love and all my atention when im at home thought i make sure im equal with him and buff. he does no harm when he does it bles him i just thought he wud of been too old but i supose hes stil a baby just a massive one hehe

Max is a very heavy 2 year old that left his mum after 12 weeks. He still suckles on my dressing gown. He gets so excited when he sees me put my dressing gown on and can't wait until I sit down so he can jump up on my lap and start suckling its the only time i get to stroke him.
