Arrow Is he wierd?

My male (20weeks old) kitten called Kai sleeps with me every night next to my pillow with my arm around him, since he has had his injections he has been acting very oddly, he now sleeps with his face very close to mine so I'm breathing on his face, since be has been doing this, he has woken me up by biting my face during the night like, 3-4times a night? He also snores? I was wondering if this has anything to do with his injections? Or if he was distressed? I don't really know, I just needed advise really!

Thanks in advance! x

Re: Is he wierd?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

My 19 week old was behaving the same after her injections so I'm sure nothing to worry about. She never wanted to sleep on the bed with me and always seemed to like her own space at night but the day she had her injections, she followed me around the whole evening and then slept slap bang in the middle of the bed with me balanced on the edge.

After her second injection she slept on my chest the whole night, and kept putting her paw on my face and nudging my head to wake me up to stroke her.

I was quite worried as she was really quiet, didn't seem to want to play during the day and slept quite a lot so I asked the vet if that was normal behaviour and he said it was and that it may take a few days for her to get back to her normal self - after the second day she was absolutely fine and back to her mischevious self!

It sounds as if he wants some attention and to be fussed over. It must be a horrible experience for them, not least actually going to the vets in the first place (Lexie loves it now though!)

I'd just keep an eye on him in the next few days but if you are worried about anything then maybe you could give the vets a call to see what they say.

Re: Is he wierd?

I think it's because he still is a Baby. Many cats like to sleep with their owners/slaves.
Also many cats snore!
We have 3 cats and there is at least one on the bed at night.
I am not so sure about the biting. I think that might be just play, but you don't really want to be woken up at night with him doing that.
I would either move him down to the bottom of the bed or away from your head or move him out of your room for a time. He will get use to it and if you find him a nice cosey bed he will be fine.
One other thing you could try by playing with him and making tired before you go to bed. You never know he might sleep through

Re: Is he wierd?

He has a 4tier scratch post/tree with balls and bed attached, he also has many toys (he's a spoilt little moggie ) he also get on well with the family dog and chases her around, I think he just likes my heartbeat on a night because he also sleeps on my chest until I move him, I'm not to sure about the biting, I think if he carries on I will just ring the vets.

Thanks for all the comments back!x
