Unhappy Litter box problems with my cat

So I adopted Zena about 4 monthes ago and have had litter box issues from the beginning. At first she was peeing all over my couch, purse, clothes (anything fabric she could get ahold of) and pooping on the wood floor.

Ive read multiple threads and talked to a vet about it too. I got new litter with the "cat attract" stuff in it. She will now pee in her litter box, but still poops on the floor. So i got 2 litter boxes (even though i live in a small one bedroom apartment) and she just never used the second one.

She poops like 2-4 feet from the litter box. Once and a while I catch her mid-squat and i just pick her up and place her in the box and she poops there but gives me a death stare while she does it.

i dont know what to do. Ive even confined her to a small space with the box and she doesnt care.

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Litter box problems with my cat

Have you tried a covered litter tray - if you have an open tray or vice versa? Possibly a totally different kind of litter - have the Cat Attract in one tray and perhaps a diffrent kind in another - maybe Yesterdays News (recycled paper) or non-clumping.

Also perhaps buy a couple of plug-in Feliway diffusers.
