Cat Problems :-(

I'm having some cat behaviour problems. My cat who has only been with us since about June this year (he's 2), still bites more often than I would like, and has spells of being very jumpy and even aggressive. He also occasionally - well, about 3 times in all - pees where he shouldn't, including this morning, after which we are having to buy a new duvet and duvet cover!

Last weekend we lost his laser pointer, his favourite toy, and we still haven't found a replacement despite trying 3 pet shops! I think he's got a lot of pent up energy and he's maybe just wanting attention? We do try to play with him with his other toys but he is not as into any of them so will only play for a few minutes at a time. Must find a laser pen today!!

Lately (about 2 months ago) I started a new job so I'm now out of the house during the day and I have noticed when one of us goes out he cries and cries...I'm just scared he seems unhappy. Already use Feliway, eats and poops fine, on some fatty oils for dandruff/scratching and katalax for hairballs but otherwise in good health. He can be very affectionate but then suddenly jumpy or bitey. Very vocal! I keep toying with the idea of seeing a cat behaviourist but then think our problems aren't severe enough...? what do you reckon?
