Attacking

Issue with my cat, he is 3 nearly and he attacks for no reason. Like stroke him he will be purring and happy then suddenly bites or scratches. He snatches with food too. I don't know how to get to stop, ideas please and thank you in advance

Re: Attacking

Sounds like overstimulation. I have a girl like this. Best is to pet only for a few seconds, watching for the signs and stop immediately before the attack occurs.

Re: Attacking

Hi there. I am a new cat owner ive only had my cat a few weeks, but when my tipsy came to live with us at first he was like this it is over stimulation and when you are stroking and stroking them they suddenly turn round and bite you. I read alot about this and you can look at some of my questions on here that is about tipsy biting. He is actually a loving boy and now im beginning to know when he has had enough of the stroking by his body language, eg tail moving, ears back although saying that he does sometimes do it when you are not prepared. My children and I are always careful with him now everything, even being picked up is on his terms really but that doesnt make us love him less when he does jump on us to be cuddled or lets us pick him up we feel so honoured lol...just be patient and watch for the body language..lots of luck (cant believe im giving someone advice on here lol)..xx
