He's gonna go...

Hello all. I bought a kitten back in September. He was & still is the cutest little thing, but he's started to bite & scratch especially my youngest daughter (11). I'm wondering what I have or haven't done that has made him change. Is he playing? Will he grow out of it? If i ignore him will he think it's OK and then get worse? If it needs to be stopped how do i stop it? There are so many conflicting solutions i don't know which to go with. All i know is if i can't be helped my poor little cat will HAVE to go. Please somebody help me. Thank you.

well it all depends what kind of damage he is doing tbh is it just a scratch and a bite or is it more serious

Re: He's gonna go...

How old is this cat?

It sounds like normal kitten behaviour to be honest.

Re: He's gonna go...

hey ya, do you have fishing rod type toys for him? my kittens rarely scratch/bite but i have never allowed anyone to use there hands/feet to play with them. dont get me wrong they will try it on normally because they are full of beans and i am having to remove them from a room or situation and they think im playing with them i think, either that or because their not chuffed im shifting them lol.
i have 3 kids who always want to play with them but taught them no hands/feet for playing so the kits learn to not bite/grab at them, does your daughter use her hands (or did when kitten was smaller?) im sure this has helped mine realise they are not playthings plus the fact i have 2 kittens so they do it to each other rather than us, it sounds like your kitten has decided your daughter is his play mate have you got a lazer light pen?
i bring this out to purposely wear mine out so they settle and go back to sleep when they are being a bit crazy
there are better people to advise you but this is just my experience plus wanted to bump your post up so it doesnt get missed good luck hun im sure he will grow out of it with time
