Is there a way to improve my kitten's confidence?

She was very poorly socialized as a young kitten (we got her from some neighbors, and her only interaction was with her siblings and the people taking care of her) and when we got her at nine weeks old she was terrified of everything and everyone. Luckily she's now comfortable with everything in our household, but she hates strangers, and she even hides from people who visit often, such as relatives or my friends. When we moved she got worse, but that could have been because of the change in setting, my question here is, is there a way to get her to be more confident around people? Nobody has ever been allowed to hurt her in any way since I've gotten her, I would even go so far as to say I may have spoiled her a bit, as well as letting my friends shower her with praise, treats, and lots of play, but that hasn't seemed to change her opinion of people. I'm very proud of my kitten but she doesn't really like new people at all, help?

Re: Is there a way to improve my kitten's confidence?

I don't know but I have a cat that is the same. She hides whenever the doorbell goes. She has got a bit better with me and my OH and will sometimes approach us to be stroked but she still runs away if we move too suddenly.

To my knowledge nothing has ever happened to make her like this and her sister is the complete opposite.
