Wabbit...erm...early neutering candidate?

Wabbit is now 16 weeks old and has decided he likes his giant grey catnip mouse afterall... in fact, he likes it rather a lot
I wasn't expecting THIS kind of behaviour until a bit later on... should he have the snip now? Or should I just hide all cuddly toys until he's 6 months?
Is he likely to start spraying now he's decided he's into "grown up" things?

Re: Wabbit...erm...early neutering candidate?

haha Rio does this to a ginger cuddly toy cat we have but it's not long enough to manage anything so after a while he gets frustrated with it and fighting it instead! Although he's neutered so I guess it hasn't stopped his urges!! As far as I'm aware, around 5 months is average for neutering but I've read on here before that some people get theirs done earlier and have been fine....I'm no expert though, just made me laugh

Re: Wabbit...erm...early neutering candidate?

LOL, When I caught him I wasn't sure whether to laugh or be horrified! It ended up with me doing both. He's only little and he was really getting into it
My own vets don't neuter until 6 months, though not sure if they might do him early as he's showing "behaviour"...
My kids have so many cuddly toys I really don't want to think about what he's doing to them when nobody is looking, especially when my boys then take them into their beds

Re: Wabbit...erm...early neutering candidate?

I have the same problem! But my little man lives with his sister and I'm so paranoid that she is going to fall pregnant before they get snipped. Just spoke to the vet and she said they have to wait a month as they will only snip at 5 months if they show behaviour otherwise its 6 months.

I am going to ring round other vets to see if anyone can do it sooner another month of Ted perfecting his technique is going to drive me insane!

I have tried separating them but they cry for each other.

Re: Wabbit...erm...early neutering candidate?

I guess I'm lucky that he's only got a toy mouse to try and impregnate Cassie my older cat is done, not that she'd let him anywhere close enough to try "that" anyway.
Boys eh? No matter what species, they're all the same
