Re: Help needed with new cat

We have got feliway, but the older cat isn't coming in so isn't getting the effects of it yet! We have tryed trapping the new cat in but the older cat won't come in so he doesn't know she is locked away but if we can even find him if we picked him up and took him in he would just panic and run out of the cat flap!

Re: Help needed with new cat

Sounds like older cat is scared of getting caught in a cage only thing i can think of is to let them be till they decide to come in may take a long time though, but least they will come on their terms.

Problem with cats is that they independant and dont like being forced to do things unlike dogs.

Hopefully someone else has another solution to the situation

Re: Help needed with new cat

Thanks for everyone who's taken the time to post advice. We locked the new cat away overnight and the old cat stayed indoors - good job because it was freezing! This morning we have tried some controlled introductions and they've gone as well as can be expected. The old cat is back outdoors but at least he's in the garden and hasn't gone away.

Any further advice on what to do next most welcome.
