Re: help!!!!!!!!!!
I used to have a problem with a cat of mine sleeping in the sink (when it was empty of course) I sprayed him with water when I caught him jumping up on anything in the kitchen, eventually he got the message and stopped jumping up during the day, on a night it was different, he had his own set of rules. So I started filling the sink on a night
You could try soaking a towel or something and leaving it on the table, I can't imagine your cat enjoying sleeping on that ![]() It's a long shot, might work though. |

Re: help!!!!!!!!!!
Try shutting off the kitchen? Maybe not practical.
Alternatively, the cat wants to be high up - any possibility of moving in a cat tree? Reward him with a treat when he lies on it/sleeps on it? You can buy PVC cloth - easily wipeable and can be cut to measure. Put that over the table? |

Re: help!!!!!!!!!!
I had this problem when my kittens were a bit younger, I always cleaned it with a citrus flavoured cleaning product (as cats don't like citrus flavours) and I would sprinkle pepper on the table for the same reason.
I also find spraying water is great for correcting a cats behaviour. You just have to be persistent. Now if one of my cats jumps on the table (vary rare), I only have to look at them and they will jump off as they automatically assume the water is comming. |

We did this with ours, when they went on things we didn't want... like the telly stand etc. There was a section under the kitchen counter where they would always scratch at a bit of wallpaper, so mum just hung a bit of orange peel there and they stopped!

Re: help!!!!!!!!!!
This may sound weird but we used sticky tape on the edges left it there for a few days - the cats hated the sticky tape on their paws and fur and did not wan to get up there at all! Just use warm soapy water to get it off when you are done!
