Cat waterbaby

This is not exactly a problem but it does seem odd to me. Does anyone else have a cat that will only drink running water? In other words, everytime you turn on the tap, there is kitty to take a drink?

My male ginger cat will ONLY drink running water. He seems to be fascinated by water in general. He plays in it, flipping the water out of the sink with his paw and he will literally sit for hours watching water that is moving, and loves to dip his feet in and splash it around.

Like I said, it's not a problem that I'm worried about, just seems strange to me. Anyone else have this experience?

Erin

My cat Shadow often drinks from the kitchen sink, and will also lick the water from my legs when i get out of the shower!

Yep, my girl Rigsy will only drink from the tap. She'll also sit in the sit, staring at the tap, hoping for the occasional drip she can catch

My other cat, Lucky, could care less about sinks/taps. Why bother jumping all that way when there's a perfectly good bowl at his own height? LOL

Re: Cat waterbaby

Ah yes, Happysaz, my Gabby does that too, just sits in the sink, waiting and watching, poised to catch that little drop when it falls. But the splashing around in the water, he waits for me to pass by and takes the water in his paw and flings it at me! He's like a naughty boy playing in the pool! Makes me laugh though. He's also taught the other cat, Moxie, the joys of drinking running water. She doesn't play in there though.

My other cat... oh boy... she's as evil as Gabby is sweet. She steals all the time and I'm constantly finding items strewn about the house that don't belong to me. Once she even stole a blouse from my landlady's bedroom and we had to chase her down to get it back.

She also hates anything electronic. If the phone rings, she attacks it and I cannot leave my cell phone out because she will take it and chew on it. She has nearly destroyed the remote control to the TV too. If I am speaking on the phone, she will try to grab the phone cord and pull it out of my hand.

She also jumps up and pulls all of my landlady's freshly washed laundry down from the line and onto the muddy ground. She never does it to my clothes, only my landlady's. Oh, the list of her antics goes on and on. Her coup de grace was the day she knocked my brand new laptop onto the floor and destroyed it though. She can be quite a handful.

Re: Cat waterbaby

Yes cats are quite particular with their drinking water
Its not at all unusual for them to drink running water as this is the freshest you can get
