Evie and Alfie... play or fight?!?!
hi everyone...
as you know I recently got alfie, and he's been a dream cat. I felt so so bad about leaving him on his own for extended periods of time, like when I went to work etc, that I decided to get another kitten of the same age, 8 weeks, to keep him company. I adopted Evie from a girl who had to give her up because her baby had become allergic to her, and her previous owner stated that she was a timid, affectionate and loving cat, with no behavioral problems or anything.
I got Evie home, and her and Alfie immediately started playing together, now they sleep together on my lap, eat together and play together. match made in heaven!
the only thing is, Alfie's a bit bigger than Evie, and when they play, Evie extends her claws, growls and occasionally hisses. Alfie immediately lets go, only for Evie to then jump all over Alfie, whilst still hissing etc.
I just need to know if this is normal, mainly becuase she seems to be extremely vocal, and i don't want either of them to get hurt. Alfie doesn't make a sound, or extends his claws, so i don't know if they're just playing or on the verge of killing each other!
Ive ordered a feliway to see if it helps calm them down, but other than that, i don't know what to do. I understand that they're kittens and play rough, but whats too rough??
she was apparently taken from her mother at about 6/7 weeks, so I could understand if this could be a reason for her loudness, but I don't know! Shes a mixed breed, just a moggy methinks.
