Urgent request for help from animal lifeline uk

URGENT REQUEST FOR HELP FROM ANIMAL LIFELINE UK – PLEASE READ

Animal Lifeline UK are appealing for people to become part of the friendly team to help us with the work we do to help animals and rescues throughout the UK.

This need has arisen because the site is getting busier by the week and sadly three of our team are now only available to help for short periods of times ,due to personal commitments.

Full training will be given and help will be there for you while you learn how to do this work, we need people who are able to work on their own initiative, make decisions and learn the ropes quickly.

We need volunteers to take up the following roles:
1. Moderate the forum, keep threads up to date, move threads where they should go within the forum. Also to administrate requests for help for transport, home checking, fostering etc. by using our automatic email system.
2. To work in the internet as a cross poster of animals in rescues and urgent requests of help onto other forums and sites such as facebook, twitter etc
3. To trawl the classified ads etc to find and contact people looking to adopt animals to see if they would consider adopting an animal from a rescue. If a positive response is given to obtain their contact details from them of what they are looking for then post on our site to try to help match animals already in rescue to them.

4. Someone to be a fund raiser for us, to think up ways of raising much needed funds for us to enable us to help more animals

Please only apply to help if you are prepared to carry out this work on a regular basis – the role is not just running and updating the website but to become part if the team that co-ordinates and runs our whole organisation.
We warned! Although most of the people and rescues we work with are lovely, friendly folk who will do everything they can to assist you, you will come across some people who will take you for granted, and will, on occasion, be rude and dismissive and you may sometimes feel that you are very unappreciated. However, it is all about the animals and you will get enormous satisfaction from knowing that you are saving animals lives and making sure that they have loving homes.
Please, please think seriously about whether you can help us. The more volunteers we get, the less work everyone will have to do. Sadly if help is not forthcoming, we will have no alternative other than to close Animal Lifeline UK down as the workload has become impossible for the current team to manage (I guess you could say we are a victim of our own success!|) We believe that to close would be a great pity and loss as we have managed to help 1000’s of animals over the two years we have been running. The rewards of seeing an animal saved can’t be measured.

If you are interested in applying as a much-needed volunteer, please pm me or email us at info@animallifelineuk.org

Many thanks for taking the time to read this and I really do hope to hear from lots of you soon.

Best wishes Kelly-joy and The Animal Lifeline UK Team
