Old Boy

Just a quick post after devoting all others to the new kitten; wouldn't want the other cat to feel left out! The picture is of my parents cat, Toby; he's 17 years old now and I love him to pieces. We had him as a kitten and I've watched him grow up as I have, he was always so energetic and friendly; he was mostly an outdoor cat only coming in for food and quick cuddles but as he's got older he's started to stay in more and now he rarely goes out. The years have took their toll and he is so fragile now, all he wants to do is lie down and be fussed; he's stopped eating as much and has got quite thin, plus his coat has started changing to a duller colour and his eyes just seem so...old. It's quite sad when I look at him in this photo actually as he doesn't at all look like the Toby I used to know but I know he's had a good life, is happy and very much loved. So, here's to you old boy! Hoping you've got a few more years left in you yet

What a dignified old boy. Echo the sentiments of Pixel - hope you have plenty more time with him yet.

Re: Old Boy

Looking good for a senior.
Also well done for showing an older cat,as an older cat owner myself I would like to see more pics of them,I think they deserve it.
In fact I'm going to start a new thread and see if we get many pics up.

Re: Old Boy

Toby is a wonderful looking old man! I'm sure he'll be with you for many more years

I'm in exactly the same situation with my mum's cat. I grew up with him and am always ecited to see him when I visit, but am always so shocked by how old he's getting. It's lovely that we remember them as the spritely little trouble makers we grew up with though
