Re: the wegie family

thank you for the compliments. jj has the most amazing coat a typical nfc coat. all during that snow he would sit out in it day and night. nfcs have a double coat so that they endure the cold weather. i think jj must be out in the run now as i cant find him indoors and its quite cold out there.

Re: the wegie family

Just loving your wegie family! Theyare all beautiful but I am particularly keen on Nellie and JJ!
I was torn between Maine Coons and wegies before I got Oscar and Leo. I read that wegies have a different texture to their fur but I have never felt a wegie. Is their fur soft and sikly like a coonies or more course in texture?

Re: the wegie family

although they have a double coat, their coat is soft and silky.
yes nellie and jj's fathers are brothers so they are related to each other (cousins). nellie doesnt rate jj much. he is a bit of a madbrain lol, but very affectionate

Re: the wegie family

Thanks for your reply Jenny. I hope you didn't think it was a weird question but I do wonder what the main differences are between coonies and wegies are. They do seem pretty similar although wegies appear to have slightly more pointed faces from what I've seen.

Re: the wegie family

yes you are right they do. the wegies literally have wedge shaped faces where the coonies faces are squarer for want of a better word. plus wegies have no nose break if you look at there profile their nose is completely straight.
i think if i had a coonie it would be complete, love big cats

Re: the wegie family

I have never seen a Norwegian in the fur or paw... Just curious how high would you say Harry is when standing like that... they all look huge but hard to get true perspective in a picture!

Re: the wegie family

harry although only 18 months old is not as big as jj and nellie. he's angelic but he still feels solid when you pick him up. he's probably about the size of an ordinary cat in height. not sure how much jj weighs but nellie weighs in about 17 lbs.
