Re: What do you think about this canadian cat food? (details inside)

I'm not hot on the oats or rice as second and third ingredients, and the fact it's chicken and fish meal rather than actual chicken and fish isn't great but quite common. If I use Orijen as handy premium example, beginning of the ingredients is

Quote:
Fresh deboned chicken, chicken meal, turkey meal, russet potato, fresh deboned salmon (a natural source of DHA and EPA), herring meal, sweet potato, fresh deboned lake whitefish, peas, fresh deboned walleye, chicken fat (naturally preserved with vitamin E and citric acid), chicken liver, salmon meal, fresh deboned turkey, fresh whole eggs, fresh deboned herring
Again, potato not so great but you gotta have something to bind the biscuit together I think Some meal, but at least there's *some* real meat in there

On balance, I'd think the stuff you linked is better than the average but not fantastic.

I don't know what's the price overseas but in my country it's almost equal to pro plan.

I recall pro plan not being that great a food for the price. Obviously I have no idea whats available and whats not there. So can't really advise. The food above seems pretty average to me, far from the worst though. But if it's in the same price as pro plan, I'd imagine you could get better for the price.

Do you order online? If you do, maybe you could tell us what site you order from and what budget you have, I'm sure someone wouldn't mind pointing you in the direction of the best food for your budget.

well, believe it or not, I can't get better food for the price in my country. well, there are Chicken Soup and Taste of the Wild but the price is out of my range (there's no official distributor so it's expensive). actually chicken soup is cheaper if i buy the 18 lb pack but wouldn't it get spoiled or something if it's stored in an opened condition for 7 months or so?

buying online is not an option because the shipping is mega expensive to my country. (i live in southeast asia)

I don't like how they omit the percentage of the meat.

Fair enough, it was just a suggestion.

Keep the bag pegged shut, or get a container if you're worried about it spoiling.
