Advice on Alfies's tummy please!!

Right..

Since my thread the other day about Alfie's poorly tummy, he is still doing runny poo's but they are not as bad as they were a couple of days ago.

Now I was going to phone the Vets today but I thought I'd get some advice first before I get charged for a consultation fee, tests and some sort of medication!

Alfie is pooing 2 times a day so not constant diarrhea, just a bit loose! He is still active and bright as a button..

What can you suggest to help firm up his poo's?

Re: Advice on Alfies's tummy please!!

I would be very interested in any tips too, my boy Toby has a terrible tummy. I got some probiotic powder for him and gave him some with his breakfast I went upstairs a few hours later and found my bed covered in loose poo!!!! funny thing is whenever he poos in the wrong place he will wee there too.

So now I have had to go and buy a new duvet, pillows and bedding!!!!!

Saikou will become famous soon enough
Re: Advice on Alfies's tummy please!!

You could try tree barks powder Tree Barks powder-Dorwest Herbs Ltd or slippery elm - the same sort of thing. It is supposed to help soothe the digestion and help with diarrhoea. Its quite palatable so easy to give.

I've just left Alfie some JWB kitten food for now, do you think I better stay off wet foods until he has settled a bit?

Re: Advice on Alfies's tummy please!!

I think I might have already posted this elsewhere; but my vet told me to cut up little bits of cooked pasta for Anneka when she had loose stools to help her digestion. Worked well for her. Just mixed it in and she was none the wiser.

This happened to my boy and after a course of antibiotics and canacur, still no better. The RC rep suggested changing to Sensible and I have never looked back touch wood no runny poo for 4 months now.
