natural yoghurt ?
When i first came on here for advice about oakleys poorly tummy someone mentioned about giving cats natural yoghurt. i just wanted to know if u can give it to them as a weekly treat? i dont want to give oakley anything that will make him unwell but he is so fussy with what kitten milk he will drink and the one he like has recently gone downhill in quality when we get it from asda. could i use natural yoghurt as an alternative ?
thanks rhian |

Re: natural yoghurt ?
If you're worried about the lactose in live youghurt have you thought about probiotic and prebiotic supplements available for cats that are mixed in with their food or treats?

Re: natural yoghurt ?
I get through a large pot of goats yoghurt a day - it goes in their scrambled egg, but they also enjoy it as it is.
Some cats are lactose intolerant but goats milk/yoghurt is naturally lower lactose than cows milk, plus has the added bonus of being live, so can help with digestive disorders.

Re: natural yoghurt ?
thanks for the replies
i will try some goats milk see what he thinks to that. the kitten milk i have been getting has lumps all in it but it is in date people have already said it should be fine for him but he doesn't drink it when it is like that and it is normally gone in seconds so something is not right with it. |

Re: natural yoghurt ?
Have you complained to the makers of the cat milk? You may have just got some from a dodgy batch.

Re: natural yoghurt ?
no i have not complained i have had it a few times i get it from asda but someone said it may be to do with them buying things in bulk and not storing them properly. There is nowhere else near me that sell it that i no of. i may put a complaint in to asda but i doubt it would do anything
