was in the Lidl today and picked up an Optidog Sausage Meat pack at £1.29 for 1 kilo.

i am just wandering if this is ok to give my cats who are moving to raw meat.

thanks in advance.

Re: LIDL pet food

I wouldn't think so, as cats need taurine in their diet which dogs don't, so it wouldn't be present in the dog food. If they were eating something else as well, then perhaps.

Re: LIDL pet food

forgot about the taurine issue. i've not opened it yet so i might take it back, just bought it on the off chance they might like it as an alternative to supermarket food.

thanks.

Like previous poster said, a bit won't do any harm, so personally I wouldn't take it back, just wouldn't buy it again, or only as an occasional treat if they really love it.

Re: LIDL pet food

just so you all know, the cats are already on a 50% raw food diet mixed with bozita wet food. the raw consists of chicken wings, liver (free from my butcher) and rabbit when i can get. i know that the sausage meat is for dogs but didnt see any harm in trying it with the above diet.

thanks for your feedback.
