Re: fluid in abdomen, llooking for info or pts tommorow...

the only problem is that it is 3:30 am here! and our vet doesnt have a late night phone number, at least not that im aware of.

we will call straight away in the morning,

i did research and i think he had a seizure. the most likely reason is toxcicity in the body, and since we dont know what illness he has, that could very likely be the cause.

that research plus the past hour of watching him, and i am feeling like he should just go to sleep peacfully tommorw. he just peed, but he didnt even get up. poor thing just peed right where he was laying, only lifted up his bum a little bit.

and i am realizing that his back legs are more than just atrophied, his claws are constanly in the "out" position and hes always getting stuck on the carpet. from reading, it sounds like paralysis.

god...this is so hard.....

i want to comfort him, but he doesnt seem to want to be petted, only sometimes it will soothe him, mostly it seems like hes annoyed by being touched.
i just wish i could do something to give him comfort right now.

Re: fluid in abdomen, llooking for info or pts tommorow...

Sorry I didnt realise the time with you It may be his heart if he has a fluid build up we lost our old tom cat a couple of years ago he woke us in the night crying, dragging his back end round as his bag legs were paralised & gasping for breath we were at the vets at 2am the vet said the gasping was because of a build up of fluid so he pts he was 15 yrs old & hadnt shown any signs at all of illness the vet thought possible HCM but couldnt be sure without a pm & we didnt want that done.

I hope your cat is ok just do what you can till you can speak to the vet x

My thoughts are with you and I am sure your kitty knows you are doing all you can to make him happy.

I have just lost two kittens to FIP and fluid build up was one of the symptoms

If you need to talk please feel free to PM me
