Question Worried mummy rushed Pumba to vets at midnight last night!!!

We were watching TV when Pumba started choking.
She wasnt being sick just coughing and bringing her paws up to her mouth and frantically rubbing at it.

She was eating and drinking normally. When she fell asleep she was fine.

So she carried on doing this far about an hour and still nothing happened. I decided i would not be able to sleep and rang the vets who told me to bring her down.

Took her down and she didnt do the "mouth thing" - typical!!!
Anyway he checked her over and gave her an antibiotic injection and an anti-inflammatory.

Took her home and she started doing it again but not as much as before.
We went to bed and i checked on her a few times during the night and she was fine. She has not even done it at all today so god knows what was going on.

I was really worried that she was choking or something was stuck in her throat!!!! I tried allsorts before i took her to the vets. Even force feeding her drinks of water to flush out whatever was stuck. I didnt have a syringe to hand so improvised by using a plastic straw and sucking the water up myself, opening her mouth and releasing the water! LOL Good thinking ey??

Anyway cost £90 at the vets eek: Obviously i knew there was going to be a premium charge for an evening callout!
But i got peace of mind so i guess it was worth it! LOL

Anyone had any experience of this before? Or got any ideas what was happening? Its really hard to explain what exactly she was doing! LOL
She wasnt distressed at all though.

I haven't come across this except when they have got something stuck Sooty got a dog biscuit stuck once but I managed to get it out.

Quick thinking with the straw. I tend to have syringes in the cabinet.

Vets fees are ridiculous.

I thought that actually Jeanie but she is only 5 months - how old are they when they start losing baby teeth?

Yes it was like she had something stuck but me and my partner checked thoroughly - so did the vet. Whatever it was isnt causing her pain today.
I keep meaning to order some syringes and forget - i was frantically looking in the drawer for an alternative when i found the straw
