Sticky Eye?

I have noticed that Jasper has a bit of a sticky eye, its doesnt seem to be bothering him at all and there is a tiny bit of discharge but mainly it is just sticking together every so often - any ideas what this might be - will be off to the vet on monday I think!

Re: Sticky Eye?

Possibly conguntivitus (eye infection) it will probably need anti biotic drops to clear it. In the meantime bathe it either in cooled boiled water or cool boiled water with a teabag sat in it for a while.

Re: Sticky Eye?

Optrex infected eyes will clear it if it is a mild case of conjunctivitis . If he's not had it before though best to get it checked out incase something else has caused it .

Re: Sticky Eye?

My persian girl gets sticky eyes quite a bit really - I just use warm boiled water with the tiniest pinch of salt in, must be a tiny pinch else rather than being soothing to kitty it will be sore. I do this a few times a day and it sorts it out. Ive only had to take her to the vets once when it didnt seem to go.

I did this with my kids eyes when they were babies too - and it worked on them!
