Another Howling Cat
I started a new thread as this sounds different from others I found when searching the forum. We have a 15-year old female tabby, spayed when she was a kitten. She has recently started howling once or twice a day. When she does this, she is very restless, lying down, then getting up and lying somewhere else. If she gets a bit of attention, she then settles down again quite quickly.
The only time I have heard a similar howling is outside at night, when I have assumed it was a neighbouring cat on heat. Paul |

Re: Another Howling Cat
I wondered that. She seems pretty happy the rest of the time, and there is no sign of injury. At her age, there is a possibility of things like cancer, but I don't want to take her to the vet without some idea of what might be wrong.

Re: Another Howling Cat
I'm afraid without seeing her, living with her, and having vetinary training we can't help so the vets is the best place to take her. We could suggest many things but are unlikley to hit the nail in the head. It could be cancer or a sore toe who knows. Having said that I really hope she feels better soon.
