Cats diarrhoea

Hi,
My cat has had a proper loose poo for 3 days now. Otherwise he is fine, eating and drinking and being playful. I just wonder if any of you use any readily available remedies to help them through such times, please?

Its not the first time he has had it of course, he has a pretty delicate stomach and we only feed him the sensitive stomach Hills plan and he is an indoor cat. However it s the first time since he s been on Hills and we have now also a female that we attempt to feed other food. She is forever stealing his food but he is not bothered at all about hers.

Any advice appreciated,

Thank you,

Barbara

Re: Cats diarrhoea

When my two have had runny tums i give them plain cooked chicken or coley fish. No rice, this can irritate their tums more and they don't need or like rice. Now i feed my two raw as this has really helped their problem tums alot. Is the hills dry or wet food. If dry, i'd put them onto wet.

Re: Cats diarrhoea

Thanks for the advice. I have cooked the chicken for him and will look into getting some wet Hills. I also gave him some diarrhoea tablets for the pet shop since it is 4 th day today but so far cant see much change. He is full of beans otherwise.

You can buy Pro-kalin (sp) over internet which should calm his tummy. I would take him to the Vet could be a small infection.

I agree with Mellowma, a vet check might be advisable, has he been wormed recently? Lacto B is a probiotic which can be really useful to help with diarrhea - but definitely worth a check up first. Its a tasteless powder thats just sprinkled on food Lacto B Powder 75g Pot - £12.17
