No the minces are sold in 400g packets which is enough to last an average single cat 4 days

Re: Raw Food

A single cat size sounds great! Also for multi cat households where a cat has different tastes.

I did think about cutting them into portions but a bit difficult when fully frozen. Will order in the summer when easier to partly de-frost.....

First one is to try everything, whenever you are cooking meat for yourself give a little to the cat if he finds one that he likes feed him this gradually increasing the amounts but everynow and again substitute if for a different meat. If he doesn't like any mix a little in with his normal food. As he eats it when cooked you could try just searing the meat in a frying pan and gradually reduce how much it is cooked over time. If all else fails sprinkle some freeze dried treats into the raw meat.

Re: Raw Food

What a pain! All 3 of mine sniff at all the mince varieties and walk away now. I also started to feed Nature's Menu and they all do the same with that! The only thing they are eating is tongue ?? I'm at a loss to know what to feed them. I have a freezer full of minced ! I'm very tempted to find a chunky cat food and supplement it with raw. We were getting on so well too!

So sorry to read about Jackson, what a shocking loss.

I tried to feed my four cats raw chicken wings for the first time yesterday.I dipped them in boiling water first as I am concerned about germs.Only one nibbled, but I was more concerned about the wings being dragged around the kitchen floor ! I just don't think its hygenic at all !

Re: Raw Food

I find it strange that the more 'obsessed' as a society we become with germs the higher the incidences of asthma etc. It has been shown that continually killing germs with anti-bacs a) increases the germs resistance to anti--bacs (woe betide mankind in a few years time when nothing will be effective on them) and b) causes more health problems in the young etc as they aren't building up any natural immunity. the incidence of asthma, for example, is now at it's highest level ever -- when I was at school (of 1600 pupils) only one person had astha (my sister) and now when I teach a class of 30 about 4-5 kids will be using inhalers. That's a huge rise.

For chicken wings just shut the door on them in the kitchen and swish round afterwards with hot soapy water and you will be fine. You walk worse in on your shoes every day.
