What feeding dishes do you use?
We've discussed what we all feed our cats, what about the dishes we serve it in?
When I got my baby last week, he seemed too small for the various ceramic/plastic bowls I have spare, so I went out and bought him a little stainless steel bowl for food and one for the kitten milk he adores. My older boy has always had a shallow ceramic one but keeps tipping food over the side when he licks the gravy/jelly off the food. So, I saw in the pound shop today a stainless steel one, slanted, with a higher back than front and he ate his food out of it but the round bowls look to me like they might annoy the whiskas due to being narrower than the cats face, whereas the oval ones are fairly wide. Not sure which I will stick with yet but just wondered what does everyone else use? |

Re: What feeding dishes do you use?
Hi
I got 2 Maine Coons = big. So I got dog dishes/bowls for the water (I have 2 water dishes out). I have 2 bowls for the dry food - one is plastic which I have had 15 years and other I got recently is big flat bottomed stainless steel dog bowl I got from PAH. For wet food I just bought plastic type picnic plates from Sainsbury (4 for £1.19). This is because one of the raw sites advises a plate or a towel so that you can spread the raw meat out so they can see it properly. Before I had ceramic pottery bowls which I had kept from M&S creme brulee or somesuch years ago. |

Re: What feeding dishes do you use?
I have a variety...
Low side plastic - heavy type for wet food. Double plastic one for dry food - bit light and rubbish A small stainless steel one - Zelda's wet food. Double low ceramic one for kittens - this is my favourite. I have various different plates and plastic tubs for other little treats and they have the smaller ice-cream cartons for water. Bit ghetto I know but funnily enough the cats seem to drink better from these than anything else.

Re: What feeding dishes do you use?
Having big cats I use metal dog bowls, lol. For kittens I have little plastic & metal ones that came with my cats when they were babies, free with the kitten packs, lol.
I have to use metal with my one girl as she is prone to cat acne and plasic bowls are a key factor in setting it off ![]() |

Re: What feeding dishes do you use?
That's interesting never heard that but would like to change all over to ceramic in time - they stay put a little better and look nice. I'm really pleased with the kitten's one and not something I had given much thought to before
