Does any one bath their cats?

As above, just wondered if any one baths their cats?

I try to bath Alfie and Lola every couple of months. I use a flea repellent one from pets at home.. smells of lemons!

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

Nope, nope, nope, nope! LOL.

When we found Lucky he'd been living 'rough' for months we reckon, we knew he had been down at the pier stealing fish as the trawlers came in. He absolutely stank, he had fleas and he was black and brown. We bathed him about three times and his brown feet turned into beautiful white socks! But since he became black and white, he does his own bathing.

Rigsy...we bathed her once...never again. I value my life too much thanks.

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

we do about once / twice a year - not too often!!!!!!!! it takes me all that time to recover from the scratches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and get back on their good side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just depends on what their coats are like etc.....

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

We bath ours before a show. Mainly it's the white girl as pure whites tend to yellow slightly and if she was'nt washed to look pure white we would get a telling off from the judge, lol. Not happened to me, but another person was. The others get bathed as and when needed really.

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

i have only ever washed macy's rear end when she had a matted cling on that was squished into her fur(never done it again since trimming her trousers)!

I thought i read on here some where that ragdolls shouldn't be bathed as they wil matt up as their coats are different from other breeds

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

They're ok as long as you comb the fur when it's wet.. helps with shedding the coat and keeps it oil free

I find it helps to stop and fur balls developing.. but yeh I suppose if I didnt comb it it probably would get knots!

Re: Does any one bath their cats?

Yeh Alfie loves it.. he tries to get in the bath with me! Lola isn't as keen as Alfie, but she wasnt distressed at all.

I wouldnt do it if they hated it as it's not totally necessary. But now they smell gorgeous and look like little fluffy marshmallows!
