12 week old cookie?????contistpation????

cookie went for her 2nd round of jabs and id chip this morning and the vet said she felt consitpated. Bit surprised as she does a poo everyday and i have seen her drinking water. She's on whiskas kitten wet (she only has about 2 pouches throughout the day divided into 4 smaller meals and also has a bowl of dry available at all times. I always leave clean water down for her. What can I do to help her.

oh could it be down to the fact that she hadnt had a poo before she went to the vets. She has done one since coming home

If she poos every day with no problems then it doesn't sound as though she is constipated. Maybe the vet could just feel the one in the 'departure lounge' and made an assumption You could try tinned sardines in oil or some other oily fish, thats a tastey not too harsh way of getting things moving

It has to be an oily fish like sardines or mackerel. Tuna isn't the right sort.

Re: 12 week old cookie?????contistpation????

Whiskas is not a good food its full of cereals and fillers which can bloat kittens/cas because they cant digest it properly. If it was me id wean her of that asap. I feed my kitten natures menu kitten food, hi-life and applaws kitten food is good too. Its difficult to get decent kitten food, much easier when they are adults!

If you have a look the food thread i started about whats in cat food you'll see what i mean. Food like whiskas only contains 4% meat, Natures menu is 70% meat for example with no crappy fillers in.

My kittens choose the Natures Menu over Whiskas any day. Whiskas made them sick and they were a smelly little bunch on that. Much better on Natures menu!
