Great news!

We collected Melody from the vets late last night (it had been a busy day and the vets were running late). She is minus most of her teeth (only just a year old), but clear from feline aids and leukemia, which was my biggest fear.

I was informed that she had been under anesthetic for some time, so should be very drowsy and to keep her quiet. No chance! She bounded out of her carrier and rubbed against every nook and cranny, before terrorising the puppy

I do strongly believe however, that rescue centres should routinely scan for feline aids and leukemia, and inform new owners of any health problems before they leave for their new home. We would have gladly paid for these checks before taking her.

Re: Great news!

That is fantastic news Nina, you must be so very relieved. I also believe the rescue centres should offer the new owners the option of paying a bit extra to have the testing done. It would certainly have saved all the stress and worry you have have recently been through.

I bet Melody was glad to get back home

Re: Great news!

Thank you. I am having a problem posting pics at the moment, since I could have put one up. She was extremely happy to be home. I think she thought she had been abandoned again

I certainly hope so Just need to stop my puppy being a bit too rough with her, and for Melody to stop trying to pinch his dinner
