Ollie digestive problems again!!!

Hi All
My two boys had some problems the other week when I tried changing their foods, had runny poos and a few episodes of sickness. Put hem back onto chicken breat and Hill Dry and seemed to sort them out.

Now Ollie my Maine Coon boy of six months has started beign sick again. His poos are fine but he was sick on wed night, then I was in hospital yesterday but hubby said he as sick again and at night was like gagging but not sick. He said he was ok this morning though and eating, playing etc but I'm so worried.

I rushed to vet the other week and to be honest was a waste of money as they came to after a day or two and me changing their food whcih I was in the process of doing anyway. I don't mind taking him back to the vets but also don't want to waste money.

Has anyone else's cat had this problem?
THanks
Allison

Re: Ollie digestive problems again!!!

Got home tonight (from hospital) and Ollie seems ok in his self, no temp etc but he seems to be having problmes swallowing. He is eating although slowly and drinking but keeps kind of retching/coughing. It's strange like a cross between a cough and retch. Sometimes he is bringing back a little food and other times nothing. I'm gonna keep an eye on his litter habits tonight and check if he is going etc.

My two concerns are a) could it be a fur ball although he is groomed regulalry and not moulting a lot at the moment or b) could something be stuck in his throat/stomach! I have a six year old and we always put toys etc away but I'm scared that he may of picked up something small and swallowed it!

If he's not better tom will have to ahve another trip to the vets.
Any ideas?

Re: Ollie digestive problems again!!!

Well Ollie still not right and after recovering myself frm my op (although minor) broke my car insurance rules and took Ollie to the vet sat. He has some kind of sore throat whcih apparently is bad in cats as their throats are very sensitive. He;s on anti biotics and painkillers three times a day. I thought he would of picked up today but he;s still so sad and I know he is hurting, it is breaking my heart and to be honest I am so worried about him. He's still being sick from time to time (only liquid) and not really having a proper poo though he's not eating as much as normal. He is eating a little bit and drinking although I can see that it hurst him. He also seems ot be wanting more cuddles and love than normal which says some thing as he is so affectionate anyway.
I'm hoping he picks up tom but if not even though the vet said to give it a week he's going back as I can't see him in pain and so sad it's killing me.
Stan by the way is fine no problems but wants his playmate back!
