Question cats teeth

hey all i took merlin my 5 yr old cat to the vets last week for his yearly booster and the vet said he had a bit of crap stuff on his teeth and he may need a dental in the near future but to give him dental bites to see if they will bring the stuff down on his teeth, i didnt know i was meant to give him these so i feel abit like a bad cat mum. The vet said they dont normaly like to do dentals unless they have to have teeth out, so would like some advice on things i can give merlin to eat to help with his plague on his teeth ? i am giving him dental bites any other surjestions would be great thanks x luv becks x

Re: cats teeth

give him a raw chicken wing once a week - that will keep his teeth nice and clean.

Re: cats teeth

Depending on how thick the tartar is you may need something to help soften it first. Logic gel is great for that. If your cat is quite docile and doesn't mind you fiddling with him, then if you can get your finger nail just under his gum line at the top of his tooth then you can sometimes flick off the tartar, it comes off like limescale on a kettle. I have managed it on a couple of mine, but again, the logic gel will help losen it a bit.
