Unhappy Where do I find the strength, to let my girl go

We found out yesterday that my 14yr old Cat Razz has a tumour on her hip, Nothing can be done for her.
I have to make the desicion to take her in to be PTS, and I am distraught, I know the 'right' thing to do, but I am just dreading being there when it happens although I need to be with her.
I just feel sick to my stomach, I can't eat, I can't sleep and I know it is time, because she isn't interested in her food and she can't defecate

Please help me find the strength, i love her so much

Re: Where do I find the strength, to let my girl go

aw I am truly sorry that you are in this position. She has had such a loved life with you, she can rest knowing she was blessed
I really understand your situation as my gypsy is 15 and I know it's only a matter of time before we part ways. That makes me feel sick and empty so I do feel for you.
I wish you peace in the knowledge that it is the kindest thing and the most painful part of being a mum to a precious pet

Re: Where do I find the strength, to let my girl go

It's the saddest duty you have towards your animal but you have to be there to offer comfort to her. You will find the strength to act as normally as you can because you know that you must not distress her unduly. If you do this then as far as she is concerned it will be a routine visit. I am crying a little as I write this because it brings back my lovely old Kitten, who was PTS in January at sixteen. It was heartbreaking and I went to pieces a bit the moment he had passed away, but somehow you manage to stay strong at the important time when you are helping your cat to go gently.

Re: Where do I find the strength, to let my girl go

I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for you, but as someone else said, because you love her, you'll find the strength. You've loved her and cared for her and now this is what's best to save her from pain. Hold her tight, say your goodbyes, then rub her head as she goes to sleep. You will see her again someday.

Frin I'm so sorry that you have to make this heartbreaking decision but I think Razz has helped make the decision for you. She knows you love her and it will be a kindness to end her pain and suffering. Keep talking to her and let her hear your voice as that will be a comfort to her.

My heart goes out to you.

Re: Where do I find the strength, to let my girl go

Sad news but I'm glad she went gently. It can be a bit less hard to come to terms with the loss of your pet when the end has been peaceful, in my own experience.
